We are delighted to welcome Andreas Kedestig as our new Head of Human Resources (HR) at GBA Key2Compliance. During his first couple of weeks, we had the possibility to sit down with him for a few moments and get to know him more. We would like to share with all of you what we talked about, both about Andreas’ professional journey but also some fun, personal facts.
Tell us about your HR journey and why you joined GBA Key2Compliance
I have been working in HR since 2007 in both large and small companies. Before taking on this role, I was an HR consultant at Key2Compliance starting in 2022. I have always appreciated the company’s forward drive and great company culture, so for me, it was an easy decision to accept a position at GBA Key2Compliance when I was offered the opportunity.
What excites you about the role as Head of HR?
GBA Key2Compliance has grown a lot as a company, and moving forward, we will need to establish many structures and improve numerous processes, especially within HR. I see many areas for development in the HR field, and for me, it is a positive challenge to continue driving development and further elevate the HR field.
What are your top priorities in your first year?
First and foremost, it’s about getting to know the company and understanding our business. To drive successful HR work, it’s essential to have both an understanding of what we do and where we want to go. I will spend the initial period listening to thoughts and requests from the organization, and based on that, I will create a strategy for moving HR work forward.
What would you be doing if you weren’t working with HR?
I’ve worked in HR for quite a long time, so maybe I would do something completely different. I enjoy cooking, so if I were to do something entirely different, I might work as a chef.
Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
I enjoy spending time in nature and can probably be categorized as an outdoor person. In addition to being outdoors with my children, picking berries and mushrooms, I go out on my boat to fish or spend time on hunting grounds to hunt.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Not limiting yourself and not being afraid to try new things. Pippi Longstocking puts it well: “I’ve never tried that before, so I’m sure I can do it!” It’s a mindset that I, and many others, should practice more.
What are you most excited about in joining Key2Compliance?
There are a few key things on my mind. First, I’m looking forward to getting to know all my new colleagues and familiarizing myself with a new industry. Additionally, I’m excited about the opportunity to create an HR strategy that will elevate the HR function over the long term.
What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in HR?
Don’t rush too quickly; make sure that improvements are properly implemented before moving on to the next task.
